Mother’s Day is coming up and if you’re like a lot of people you’re trying to figure out a way to spend the day with your mom and family. While there are lots of good ideas out there and you’ll need to consider what your mom really likes. The five ideas below are almost surefire ways to have a great Mother’s Day:
Plan a day that’s just for you and your mom
You don’t need to make it a big event but something simple like having a picnic at home and working in her garden can be incredibly enjoyable. It’s often better than going out or having a whole elaborate day planned for many moms who may feel that your alone time is lacking now that you’re an adult.
Have a day for your kids and your mom if she’s a grandmother
Planning something fun for the grandkids can be also as much fun for your mom and she’ll be getting to spend time with the whole family. Make sure you also do something adult-friendly like having a nice lunch if you choose to do something predominately for the grandkids.
Throw a party for your mom
Instead of the traditional Mother’s Day celebration try throwing a festive get-together for her. Invite friends and family and make sure you serve food and snacks that your mom likes. Don’t forget to invite her friends – especially those with nothing to do on Mother’s Day.
Have an outdoor day with your mom
Doing something outside like going for a nature walk or taking a trip to the botanical garden is a lovely idea in the spring and it could be something your mom will love if she’s interested in nature. Just make sure you bring water, snacks, and sunscreen for a warm spring day.
Plan a trip for recreation
Instead of the traditional Mother’s Day afternoon why not treat your mom to a weekend trip to a nearby destination. Make sure you let your mom know ahead of time and book the hotel in advance.
